Right out of college, I worked for WHYY - the Philadelphia region's leading public media provider. My official title was Newsroom Intern where I reported on general assignment stories.
Pitt to the Point is a one hour news and magazine program at the University of Pittsburgh. In my last semester at Pitt, I was able to produce, report, and anchor during my time on the show. Part of my responsibilities as a reporter included writing AP Style stories to accompany my on-air reporting.
During my Freshman year at the University of Pittsburgh, I took a Journalism and Nonfiction class. In the middle of the semester we were tasked with writing an Op-Ed. We submitted our finished work to the Pittsburgh Current, a now defunct local newspaper, and the news team chose their favorites for publication.
